Nuclear stopping and flow in heavy ion collisions and the in-medium NN cross section

چکیده
We present transport calculations for heavy ion reactions in which the mean field and the in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section are consistently based on the same effective interaction, i.e. the in-medium T-matrix from microscopic Dirac-Brueckner calculations. Doing so, the stopping in central reactions in terms of the recently proposed vartl observable and the correlation to the behavior of the directed flow is investigated. The relation to the nuclear shear viscosity is discussed.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions
By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...
متن کاملNuclear stopping as a probe for in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross sections in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions.
Using an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics, nuclear stopping in intermediate heavy ion collisions has been studied. The calculation has been done for colliding systems with different neutron-proton ratios in beam energy ranging from 15 MeV/ u to 150 MeV/ u. It is found that, in the energy region from above Fermi energy to 150 MeV/ u, nuclear stopping is very sensitive to the isospin ...
متن کاملThe Comparison of the shares of stopping power in a soft tissue-equivalent material
Introduction: Proton therapy is a type of radiation treatment that it uses protons to treat cancer. Because of the protons’ unique ability to distribute the radiation dose more directly to the tumor, it minimizes the damage to nearby healthy tissues. The rate of energy loss by the ion in the target is called stopping power. The total stopping power is sum nuclear and electroni...
متن کاملPions and kaons at 1-2 A GeV: Effect of in-medium NN → N∆ cross section
Pion multiplicity in heavy-ion collisions at the beam energies of about 1 A GeV [1, 2] is usually overpredicted by transport calculations with vacuum cross sections. Recently [3] we proposed to take into account the in-medium modifications of the NN → N∆ cross section, namely, the exchange pion collectivity, vertex renormalization by the contact nuclear interactions and Dirac effective masses o...
متن کاملElliptic flow in heavy ion collisions near the balance energy
The proton elliptic flow in collisions of Ca on Ca at energies from 30 to 100 MeV/nucleon is studied in an isospin-dependent transport model. With increasing incident energy, the elliptic flow shows a transition from positive to negative flow. Its magnitude depends on both the nuclear equation of state (EOS) and the nucleon-nucleon scattering cross section. Different elliptic flows are obtained...
